Casian's belt and chest amulet keeps his natural power of the light in check. His 'Gift of the Naaru' is corrupted and is now purple.

Formerly a very highly respected Paladin in the Draenei community and well known for his sense of honour and justice to the once peaceful Orcs of Outlands, Casian could not bear the fact that though most of his comrades either died or were turned into 'Broken', he was allowed to escape.

Shortly after his squire, Tiberas, went of on his own journey, Casian began to drift into depression. Without training to keep his mind off the tragedy of Outlands, Casian started to go insane. He wanted power. The Naaru's gift to the Draenei race wasn't enough, he decided. They needed more.

When he learned of Northrend, the Lich King and what power he could provide him with, the broken Paladin ran away during his usual patrol around the outskirts of Exodar and headed north. He was considered to be dead after months of searching.
